Slimming World – 6 months in…

So! I have officially been following slimming world for 6 months! Yup, on the 9th January of this year, I decided to take a step in the right direction and make a change to my own routine by joining slimming world.

Sadly, I can’t remember a time whilst growing up when I wasn’t unhappy with my weight. For years I wanted to loose weight and make something stick, yet I was never able to find something which worked for me. I had always wanted to go to a clubs/organisation to help, just I never had the guts. Well until this year that is!

If I am honest I am really surprised that I am still dedicated to the Slimming World way of life 6 months in. I honestly thought I would give up. Don’t get me wrong I wanted to prove myself wrong, just I know what I am like and I can get bored if I don’t see something working! So I supose when I saw that I lost 8ibs in my first week, you could say it motivated me.

I haven’t stuck to the plan as religiously as I could have, but I have tried and that is the main point really.

It has also helped to have a community of people around me who joined me on my slimming world adventure. I say community as (including me) there are four of us in total. My mum, Dan and Dan’s sister, Hannah and I also have work colleagues and other friends who have since joined the plan. Having each other makes it easier to follow. Dan especially as we now know what we can/can’t eat! We are committed and I love being able to see the difference in myself on my own and us as a group.

So, down to the numbers, within 6 months, I have lost 1 Stone and 12ibs. Yes annoyingly, I am 2ib’s off from receiving my 2 stone award! But, that also means that 6 months ago I was almost 2 stone heavier than I am now! Thats a lot and not something to be sad about! It’s time to be proud that I can now fit in clothes that I couldn’t before.

I thought I I would also share some pictures of my change. Its not until you look back that you realise how far you have come.

So as you can tell, I love everything about Slimming World. I think its a great plan that can help you find the motivation to loose weight and with ease. Yes it is also about balance and being on the plan has made me realise how easy it is to balance the good and the bad.

Slimming World has opened my eyes and I am looking forward to reaching my 2 stone goal and seeing what the future me can achieve. I think I will continue to try and loose a bit more after I reach my 2 stone, but I would also like to try and get into exercising a bit more just to see if I can tone up and try to feel more confident in myself. Saying that though, I feel ten times better. I can run better, I can fit in old clothes and I feel better and more confident as each day passes. That is why I started this process, I had lost myself in all the fat and now George is making a comeback.

If you follow slimming world and have any good recipes and tips then please do let me know. Always on the hunt for easy lunches and dinners to make life easier!

Until next time,
