The Anonymous Bookaholics Tag!

Hello Everyone!

I was tagged to do the Anonymous Bookaholics Tag a few weeks ago by the lovely Books at 42.

1) What do you like about buying new books?

Really hard one to explain, but I love the rush of buying a new book. Its the anticipation. They look good and sometimes smell great – but you always know its going to take you on a little adventure. The only issue with buying books is the dreaded TBR pile as it seems to never end and you get book guilt!

2) How often do you buy new books?

A hard question! In the past week I bought 4 new books. I can go ‘some’ time without buying another but if I see something I want I’ll go get it, bookstagram does not help with me not buying books. If you ask Dan he’d say I buy them too often.

I also find that if I go to a book market I can’t get enough and always come out with at least 10 books. 😂

3) Bookstore or online book shopping: which do you prefer?

I love being in a bookstore. Buying books online is great and all but nothing beats just stumbling across a new book in a shop!

4) Do you have a favourite bookshop?

Not really! The closest one to me is a Waterstones, but I do like going into smaller shops. You know the kind where the books are stacked to the ceiling and the smell is incredible and you just want to find ‘the’ book – even if you don’t know what ‘that’ book looks like! Those are the best!

5) Do you pre-order books?

Sometimes. I’ve only done it a few times. I do like when you do pre-order and forget about the book coming though!

6) Do you have a monthly buying limit?

No but I really should. Saying that I tend to have spending spree’s then stop for a while so its not too bad. I do get addicted to gifting books for other people though – I love seeing joy!

7) How big is your wish list?

It’s not too big currently! You can see it here: Amazon wishlist.

8) Which three books from your wish list do you wish to own right now?

Cake, Bakes and Business by Britt Whyatt (aka @brittmariebox on Instagram!) I’m fascinated in learning more about making a business about cakes!

The Winter Garden by Heidi Swain – a new release by Heidi, aka the queen of Christmas and I’m excited for it!

Lastly, probably My Year of Saying No by Maxine Morrey. Just because it sounds fun and I follow Maxine on Instagram!
